[scroll for EN]

The Philosophy with Children segment, and the entire Educational Programme, are one of the most important pillars of the Philosophical Film Festival. That is why, in addition to the High School Programme and the Youth Workshops organized throughout the country, for several years we have been investing in the development of philosophy with children in Macedonia – a discipline that is already widely practiced worldwide, also under the auspices of UNESCO, and at PFF, precisely through the immediacy of the film’s visual language and the pioneering attempts in combining it with the discpline of philosophy with children.

This year, our guest was Prof. Thomas Wartenberg (Thomas Wartenberg) from the USA, a renowned expert in the field of film philosophy and children’s philosophy. For those who want to step into this magical practice that encourages curiosity and wonder in children, nurtures critical and creative thinking from the earliest age, and promotes dialogue, understanding and tolerance, with the possibilities to also develop film literacy and education in the “era of images”, we recommend the books of Prof. Wartenberg listed below and, if you are interested in the work of philosophy with children through film, checking out this website and resource page: http://whatsthebigideaprogram.com

Here you can find the open lecture of prof. Wartenberg from the 12th edition of the Festival, so if you are interested, we also hereby attach the links of these lectures from previous years at PFF with experts in this field from Europe, and we encourage you, if you are teachers and would be interested in practicing philosophy with children in your classes and schools, to “jump” into this discipline through these workshops and resources at the festival, and try to jointly introduce philosophy with children in Macedonia 👩‍🦰👨‍🦰❤️
