Youth Workshop: “Aesthetics of Film Language”

The Youth Workshop is one of the pioneering segments of the festival programme. For many years, it was led by our professor, colleague, and collaborator — a key member of the original festival team — Stefan Sidovski – Sido. In the past four years, the workshop has continued in a slightly revised format, now facilitated by Prof. Dr. Atanas Chuposki. As is already widely known, the workshop is intended for young people aged 17 to 19 who are interested in exploring the aesthetics of film language.
The goal of the workshop is to introduce young cinephiles to the basics of film language and the methods of interpreting film narratives. Like all other art forms, cinema has its own specific language and interpretive tools that allow us to read and understand the cinematic story.
The workshop took place on May 10 and 17, and was attended by high school and university students who had the opportunity to engage in discussions on film aesthetics, write film essays, and deepen their understanding of film theory and cinematic language.
